A real address, read by a person.
What gets answered fastest
- A toxicity correction. These take priority over everything else. If you can point to the ASPCA entry or another authoritative source, it will usually be fixed the same day — the data is corrected at its source, so the change appears everywhere that fact is shown.
- A wrong care figure. A watering interval, temperature threshold or soil recipe that does not match what the plant actually needs. Say which species and what you believe the correct figure is.
- A species that should be here and is not. Common houseplants missing from the list are worth knowing about.
- Your data. A copy of everything held under your account, or deletion of the account and all of it. Write from the address you signed up with.
What this address cannot do
It cannot help with an emergency. If a pet or a child may have eaten part of a plant, call a vet, a doctor, or ASPCA Animal Poison Control on (888) 426-4435 now — email is the wrong channel and the delay matters.
It also cannot diagnose your plant by correspondence. The app reads a photograph against your own conditions and history, which is a far better answer than anything that could be typed back from a description.
Reporting a data error usefully
Four things turn a report into a fix rather than an investigation:
- The species, by botanical name if you have it. Common names collide badly — several plants are sold as "rubber plant" and they are not the same species.
- The page you saw it on, or its address.
- What it says now, and what it should say.
- A source, if there is one. For toxicity, a link to the ASPCA entry settles it immediately. For care figures, where the number comes from.
Corrections are made to the underlying data rather than to the page you found them on, so a single fix propagates to every page that states that fact — the species guide, the symptom pages, the toxicity pages and the app all read from the same record.
